Massive DDoS attack on GitHub

The attack on 2/28 was the largest on record.

did you read where the akamai ddos mitigation basically did its job by blocking activity on port 11211, all they did was spoof githubs ip address, which affected the mem cache. so it wasnt even really an issue, but a terabyte of data a second is pretty gnarly, and no bot net needed. so akamai ddos mitigation utility obviously knows this issue exists and until they get rid of these mem caches it will keep happening, the next time someone without akamai protection, is screwed.

New record now at 1.7 Tbps...
