IPTV and LEDE dumb AP Wifi problems

Hi!

I have the following setup:

ISP's router -- tl-wr1043nd -- cisco STB

The ISP's d-link router is necessary, and it can't run in bridge mode, the tplink router is a dumb AP, and the STB is connected to it.

When the STB is powered, it seems that the router is overloaded, it freezes, reboots, wifi stops working.

Do you guys know if I have to enable IGMP snooping to prevent my router's freezing?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have problem only with WiFi or also the router freezes?
You may try igmp snooping, assuming that the wr1043nd switch support it

The router freezes in bigger or smaller intervals, it totally stops, only the pwr led is active.

Try to enable igmp snooping
It is like the multicast is flooding the CPU port

echo "1" > /sys/devices/virtual/net/br-lan/bridge/multicast_snooping (change br-lan to the actual LAN interface)

Thanks, but in the meantime I've replaced the router with a Linksys WRT1900ACS and it doesn't have any problems with the STB connected

You could put two switch ports in WAN, one for the modem and one for TV box, so the router's CPU doesn't see the IPTV traffic at all.
