I just got Debian Stretch to boot on Linkit Smart 7688, but need some help

But i loose serial output as soon the kernel/systemd is done.
I build kernel with openwrt build system and told it to boot /dev/mmcblk0p1
via CONFIG_CMDLINE="root=/dev/mmcblk0p1 rootdelay=10 console=ttyS2,57600"

Any one know what else i need to compile in kernel?
maybe gpio/serial support for MT7688?

I know it's not LEDE/OpenWrt, but it's the awesome work behind OpenWrt that made it posible.
