Would just like to post that I'm having good success with
Got it for ~$80, though they seems to be out of stock now. Has one PCIE slot, which I put in a https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HOD3U0S/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Eth1 (WAN) seems to go down here and there, but I have a hunch after much testing and analysis that this issue it with my ISP.
WIFI:
I currenlty use the Ubiquiti AC-Lite (Ubiquiti Unifi Ap-AC Lite - Wireless Access Point - 802.11 B/A/G/n/AC (UAPACLITEUS))
Haven't been able to figure out how to get LXC working on lede, so right now the controller is living on my macbook pro. Maybe one day I'll get around to flashing the AP with lede as well, but it works well as it is so I'm not touching it.
Issues:
- Couldn't get the onboard NIC to work with lede. Worked fine in Ubuntu live. I just use the PCIe card for both WAN and LAN now.
- Using a PCIE card disables the onboard displayport because the DP uses the PCIE bus. Be prepared to find a monitor/TV that still supports vga or have an adapter handy.
Performance:
- Running SQM and Full statistics, never seen processor get above 2%, doesn't get above 5% with TSO, GSO, and GRO off. My internet speed is 250 Mbs/25Mbs.
- Memory stays below 6%
- SQM: Ingress set to 180 down, egress 15, bufferbloat A from dslreports speedtest using the longer test is high-rez bufferbloat monitoring with compression disabled.
Just wanted to put all this out there for folks with old computers laying around.
