GL-MT300A WiFi speed drop in LEDE 17.01.2 and 17.01.3

After upgrading LEDE from 17.01.1 to 17.01.2, the WiFi bandwidth significantly decreased. This drop also exists in LEDE 17.01.3.

Testing device: MT7620 - MT300A

The bandwidth was measured using iperf:

this is on a similar device to yours that use same MT7620A chip

Domino still has the MT300A based on 15.05. Their newer products are based on 17, but sadly, the 300A is still behind with their "official" firmware.

I found a bug with their 2.2x release prior to 2.261, where it'd constantly drop back to 150 from 300. I was having issues with the stock 17 tree being a bit too much for my needs compared to their streamlined build, so I ended up going back to that. I didn't think to save the source tree or make a note on what I had to tickle to make it come back up at 300, but whenever I get it unburied, I'll post it here if it's at all still applicable to the LEDE tree.

try windows or any ubuntu up to 15.04 (i think 15.04 worked good with 3.18 kernel images, not sure about kernel 4.4)
