Build for Netgear R7800

Thanks for the confirmation. I removed any factory, sysupgrade and imagebuilder file produced in the last 24 hours now.

I'm beginner. How can I merge this with hnyman's build environment?

To me the whole things looks unnecessary, as the config was integrated into the firewall config a few weeks ago.

The two new fields should just be added into the LuCI firewall app, I think.

Maybe remove the master-r7035-4da832e201-20180524-TFTP-flash-kernel-4.14 firmware since it doesn't flash well. r7016 works tho'.

master-r7044-a3f2451fba-20180525-kernel-4.14

Has again working default network settings, as the bug introduced on May 24th has been fixed.

7044 flashes fine and comes up fine. thanks

However on SQM I am getting "Apply request failed with status
Permission denied" when trying to disable or re-enable it.

works for me. Both enabling and disabling the checbox in SQM config page, as well as disabling/enabling the whole service on System/Startup page.

Possibly a local file permission problem at your router?

any idea on which file it could be?

/etc/config/sqm

also possibly the init script symlink in /etc/rc.d

But I have not seen that error earlier. In theory the problem might be due to the new LuCI rollback code by @jow , but SQM was fixed to work ok with that, and like said, I have not seen similar problem.

Pure hunch, but some restored settings files with skewed user IDs? Or something like that.

Those files look fine.
All other settings work as expected apart from SQM.
If I delete the SQM conf files , will that allow me to redo that?

hmm...r7044 failed to boot for me after a sysupgrade. i had internet connectivity but no luci, no ssh, and no wireless. power cycle seems to have sorted it.

Hello i have installed the OpenWrt 18.06-SNAPSHOT r6984-fa0275bd90 / LuCI openwrt-18.06 branch and i have bad openvpn speed max 40mbit tried with diffrent protocol and it is the same  is it something with the new kernel ? and cant install wireguard

For me the router feels faster with the 9.14 kernel. I don't use OpenVPN tho'

Hi, tried a sysupgrade from r6917 to r6984 and failed to boot. I had to tftp the r6984 and restore settings via backup.

Just for you to know!

Just as expected, and documented in message 1. You moved from kernel 4.9 to 4.14, so you need TFTP flashing:

owrt1806-r6917-8948a78862-20180520-kernel-4.9
owrt1806-r6984-fa0275bd90-20180524-kernel-4.14

Note: master and 18.06 have now a larger kernel partition, so that kernel 4.14 and flow offloading is possible. You need TFTP flash once to upgrade/downgrade from one group to the other group. Sysupgrade works normally inside each of these groups:

* kernel 4.4 or 4.9: 17.01, old master builds (<r7000), plus the quite earliest 18.06 builds
* kernel 4.14: new master builds (>r7000), new 18.06 builds

is anybody else finding the master builds to be a bit unstable? my router becomes non-responsive or resets itself seemingly every other day (usually when i try to go into LuCI), and i also have a problem with my firestick tv where it stops being able to stream video (sits there spinning), requiring the firewall service to be restarted.

Sorry for not reading! :disappointed_relieved:

I am not seeing anything like that with this build.

did you restore your pre-4.14 config or do a full reset? i restored mine from a 4.9 backup.

Not really...

OpenWrt SNAPSHOT, r7050-9c409cb4e2
uptime
11:06:19 up 2 days, 18:38, load average: 0.03, 0.02, 0.00

Is your router running hotter with 4.14 and reboots? Wild guess.
I used the old configs from 4.9 kernel builds.
